Nothing But Pop File, vol.37: The Philosophy of Modern Song Songs

スロウバック・サーズデイ恒例のNBPプレイリスト。いつもは全12曲という曲数にこだわって選曲しているのだけれど。今週はそのルールを逸脱。数日前にとりあげたボブ・ディランの最新刊『ザ・フィロソフィー・オヴ・モダン・ソング』でディランがセレクトした66曲をすべて詰め込んだ、全長3時間半近くの壮大なプレイリスト、読書のおともとして作ってみたので、お裾分けさせてください。

まあ、世の中のディラン・ファンがこぞって同趣向のプレイリストを作って各々発表したりしているわけですが。ぼくも作ってみましたー。

ただし、1曲だけ、スティーヴン・フォスター作の「ネリー・ワズ・ア・レディ」に関して。ディランは2004年に出た『ビューティフル・ドリーマー：ザ・ソングズ・オヴ・スティーヴン・フォスター』に収められていたアルヴィン・ヤングブラッド・ハートのヴァージョンをセレクトしているのだけれど。そのヴァージョンがApple Musicに入っていないので、そこは別アーティストのヴァージョンになっています。あしからず。

この本では、これらの曲に対してディランが、もうあの手この手、いろいろな切り口で、歌ではなく、書き言葉によるいろいろな表現でアプローチを仕掛けているのでした。日本語訳は来春、岩波書店から出るそうです。待ち遠しいっすね。
